I remember Deviant back when it was about ART. Now I open the main page and almost run in fear seeing borderline pornographic photos of "beautiful women". What is beautiful about spreading your legs for a picture??? You know what a good 70% of the male population will do behind the safety of their computer screens with that.
Where did the portraits go?? The stunning watercolors and pastels? What has the world done with art??
I have to wonder this to myself and remember just how easy it's accessed at the tips of our fingers. Duplicated and mass distributed. One google download, and you have a $100,000 painting as your background screen.
I fear that our children will not value art as we have.
I guess that's just my opinion.. I would never let my child think that such a thing was "Art". Ten years ago it was the most coveted XXX Porn to people. And now we display it on our profiles, defending that its artwork. No. It's a naked woman with her legs spread for everyone to see. Scummy poses, and dirty titles. Hell. Playboy used to have a more artistic eye than most of you. I'm disappointed in my peers... And I wish there were still more of us to out number the ones thinking that such is deserved a title as that. I miss looking on Deviant and seeing ARTWORK. Seeing the souls and emotions of fellow artists. Not seeing someone's over fleeting perversions.
